Particulars of membership
A members’ club for the discerning Newcastle golfer, founded in the spirit of those storied country clubs of yesteryear. The Club exists to provide a year of properly organised golf, distinguished company, and the occasional indulgence.
The membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June, in line with the Australian financial year. Subscriptions are reviewed periodically and without notice. Rates are advised on application.
Subscription
Terms of admission
Any residual portion of the admission contribution is deposited in the Club’s contingency fund, to provide for unexpected costs and flexibility in the planning of engagements. Rates are not published.

Payable in respect of each membership year. Rates are advised on application.
Admission
On acceptance
A one-off contribution is payable. A concession applies to inaugural Members.
Proposed by
A Member
New Members are proposed by an existing Member in good standing.
Seconded by
A Member
And seconded by another. A time-honoured practice.
Provision
The Member’s pack
Upon joining, each Member receives the Club’s standard issue.
- A high quality embroidered polo bearing the Cooks Hill Golf Club crest
- An embroidered Club golf towel
- Participation in the three engagements of the calendar
Exclusion
Matters not included
Members make their own arrangements in the following respects.
- Transport to and from engagements
- Additional food or refreshments beyond the inclusions of an engagement
- Personal equipment — clubs, balls, shoes, and attire beyond the Member’s pack
- Optional rounds or gatherings between organised engagements
